Serving Greater Hall County And Surrounding Areas
Common questions, honest answers.
How far in advance should I book a move?
Three to four weeks if you're moving between May and August — that's peak season and weekends fill up fast across Hall County and the metro Atlanta area. One to two weeks is usually fine in the off-season (fall and winter). If you need a last-minute move, call anyway — we keep some availability open for short-notice jobs, especially for smaller loads.
How do you charge for local moves versus long-distance moves?
Local moves (within Hall County or under 50 miles) are billed hourly — truck, crew, fuel, and equipment included. The clock starts when we arrive at your first address and stops when we're done unloading. Long-distance moves are billed by weight or cubic footage, plus charges for stairs, long carry, and packing materials. You'll get a written estimate before the move.
What's included in the hourly rate for a local move?
The truck, a crew of three movers, fuel, moving blankets, dollies, hand trucks, shrink wrap, and basic tools for disassembly and reassembly. Packing materials (boxes, tape, paper) are extra. If you need us to pack for you, that's billed separately — either hourly or as a flat add-on.
Do I need to empty my dresser drawers before the move?
Lightweight items like clothes and linens can stay in the drawers — we'll wrap the whole dresser and move it as-is. Take out anything heavy, fragile, or valuable (jewelry, electronics, breakables). If the dresser is solid wood and fully loaded, we'll usually ask you to remove some items so it's not too heavy to carry safely.
What should I do to prepare for moving day?
Pack and label your boxes, or let us know ahead of time if you want us to pack. Clear a path from the door to the truck — move cars, toys, hoses, anything in the way. If there are stairs or tight doorways, measure large furniture to make sure it'll fit. Disconnect appliances if we're moving them. Have a plan for kids and pets so they're not underfoot during the move.
Can you move a piano or a gun safe?
Yes. Pianos and safes are specialty items that require extra equipment and crew. We use a piano dolly for uprights and a piano board for grands. Safes get moved with an appliance dolly or a motorized stair-climbing dolly if there are stairs. Both are quoted separately from the main move because of the equipment and liability involved.
